Darcie & Evie went to Alderhey Hospital recently to begin the observational period prior to taking part in the GW pharmaceuticals cannaboid trial.Cannabis oil has been trailed and used in the USA with great results with regards to reducing seizures and the amount if nasty drugs with horrible side effects that kids with Dravet take every day.

This pioneering new treatment does not come without it’s dangers and risks and it has been a big decision for us as parents to allow Darcie and Evie to take part- it feels like we are signing their lives away.Between us we have come to the conclusion to allow the girls to take part in the trial as they will not only be potentially improving their own lives but also others in the world with Dravet.
Our lives will be put on hold for the next 5 months, but it is a small price to pay if it proves successful and be of a great benefit to Dravet and Epilepsy sufferers around the world.
